Contemplative.Online is the companion website for the Contemplate App, a mobile device app packed wih features to help users become more familiar with the teachings of the Catholic Church on Contemplative Prayer and to learn and practice the prayer approaches suggested by two of  greatest teachers of  prayer in the Christian  tradition, St. Teresa of Avila's Prayer of Recollection, and her counterpart St. John of the Cross' Prayer of Loving Attention.  Drawing on the works of these two Discalced Carmelite saints, it hopes to make this ancient form of prayer more widely known and practiced.

"Entering into contemplative prayer is like entering into the Eucharistic liturgy: we "gather up:" the heart, recollect our whole being under the prompting of the Holy Spirit, abide in the dwelling place of the Lord which we are, awaken our faith in order to enter into the presence of him who awaits us.
